Connecting Students to Opportunities
Led the design of a platform connecting students with internship opportunities, combining user research with rapid implementation.
Problem
Students struggle to find relevant internships that align with their career goals, while companies face challenges connecting with qualified intern candidates. The existing process was inefficient for both sides.
Approach
Through extensive user research with both students and employers, I identified key pain points in the internship search process. The project culminated in an intensive three-week sprint in San Diego, where I rapidly prototyped and tested solutions with real users.
Outcomes
We successfully launched a platform that streamlined the internship matching process, making it easier for students to find relevant opportunities and for companies to connect with qualified candidates. The high-pressure sprint environment proved the value of combining user-centered design with rapid implementation.
Lessons Learned
Rapid prototyping and testing under pressure can lead to innovative solutions when balanced with solid user research. The project demonstrated how to maintain user-centered design principles even in fast-paced development environments.
